I have a series of photos linked into my database via a path. Some of the pictures are portrait, and some landscape. The landscape ones look fine in the landscape frame, but the portrait ones are squashed when fitted into the landscape frame.

Any suggestions as to how I can have the phtots displayed properly on the form in their portrait or landscape format? I have tried two frames, and an if in VB to choose which frame to use, depending on the dimensions of the picture, but can't get the code to recognise the pictures.

That would be fairly impressive to have access recognize the layout of your picture. If you are successful, let me know.

I have a similar quandry. I too have a database full of linked images. There are two things I would like to do. One of which I have sort of solved. It should apply to you. Set your on click event to open a image editor of your choice. I have the path written out above the picture on the form, I just have been copying and pasting that into the path to open it in the image editor. The only editing that needs to be done is to rotate the image horziontally or vertically, so its sort of an answer to your question. Kinda hokey, but it's one of those things that isn't requiring more effort.

However, what I would really like to do is control the layout of the image as far as width and height. Doesn anyone know how to effect those controls?

Hi Mark

My solution to the problem above ended up being to use the picture property size mode set to zoomt. This allows the picture to display with correct ratio within the frame I have allowed. So they basically display in two sizes (landscape or portraite) within the unbound object frame.

This means that even though my pictures are bigger at the file end, they at least only have 2 displayed sizes in the report. The size of the picture then is controlled by the size of the unbound object frame.

Hope this is of some help. It got me out of trouble at the time.

Regards

Jenny
