Picture on side of toolbar only

How do I make a graphic appear on only the side toolbar of a web page as is at

http://www.nosway.com.

Actually, thats a pretty common trick that is quite easy to do. Create a gif/jpeg much wider than most users screen width (the site you gave uses one 1280x46 pixels and put something nice on the left hand side. With IE you can right-click|copy background to see how any site does its background.
