I have a bunch of picture links on my site. Every time someone clicks on one, the browser puts a little gray square box around it. I'm sure you know what I am talking about, if not, click on a picture link on this site. Is their a way to get rid of that? Since my button changes when someone clicks on it, they will know that it has been clicked with out the ring.

This little line gives information to the end user. In a slow connection it allows them to not ask their brain to keep track of what was last clicked (believe me the less the people think the more they like your site).

If you really don't care about usability you can try adding this to your link or image :

onfocus="this.blur()"

Thankyou for the prompt response. It worked! In my case, there is no reason for the user to want to remember the link they clicked on. It is a menu on the side of the screen.
