Is there any software available, not too expensive, that will recover .psd, .jpg, .tif and .pcx files on a DOS/Win 3.11 for WorkGroups machine. For some unknown reason the Windows "undelete" utility is not on this machine. I accidentally deleted all the files on one partition. All were said to be "excellent" & I recovered some (.txt and .jpg) with DOS & PCSHELL, but others returned as garbage. I now fear I may have ruined the rest in the process. One directory of picture files disappeared entirely.
I've looked at a number of freeware (demo) or shareware downloads mentioned in another forum, but only one is MAYBE able to handle this. I'm uneasy about running it without further info since it's designed to run from a DOS bootable floppy made to do recovery on Win 98 and higher machines. I don't want to destroy any other files on the computer.
If no recovery software exists, can someone point me to software to display clusters and a guide for tracing them and relinking them?
Thanks for any help
