Pickup handset dial extension

Hi Guys,
can someone help me configure how to setup this feature. I don't know the exact name and I also can't seem to find exactly what I'm looking on Google.

So here goes, when someone picks up the handset a call should be placed immediately to an extension number. When I google I see Dial Direct or Dial Direct Hotline. I've tried those but they don't seem to work. It's almost like dial paging but instead of configuring a button, you just pick up the handset and it dials an extension. Maybe I'm using a wrong short code or feature. Any help is appreciated.
 
create a short code in the user section for this phone.
?D for the code
Feature is dial extension
Telephone number is the extension
 
The short code is ?D, the feature is dial extension, the tel number is the extension you want to call. Put this short code in the user you want to auto call the extension.
 
Normally called hotdial or hotline, been called various things over the years on IP Office... Currently "Default Number Dialing" (you've got to love this industry for its jargon!:) )

The more recent releases add a timer, "?D(x)" where x is seconds, so you can give them a few seconds to dial, but if they don't then the number in the User shortcode is executed. Heard of that being used with a long timer (>15 seconds) for triggering an alert, in interview rooms for example.
