Very small IPO R10 with J-series handsets. Line appearance buttons for analog lines. System has been in service for almost 2 years. New problem started this week. If an employee answers a call, puts it on hold, and tries to pick it up at another phone, the call disconnects.

I know, I know, Park would be preferred, but they are insistent on seeing their lines, as many small businesses in this area are.

Appreciate ideas on what might be causing this problem.

the first thing I would try is a reboot on the system, you probably did that already so the next step is to try with a park button do see if that does show the same issue.

Then what Release 10 are we talking about 10.0 was crap 10.1 was better and free as an upgrade from 10.0 so try upgrading to the last 10.1 if you are not already on it.

seeing that it worked also see if it is on actually all lines or if only 1 or 2 or in a specific slot have the issue.

I usually put a Park button on their phones and label it 'Hold'. Fools them every time. Explain the actual hold button is an exclusive hold. But I also name their appearances Line 1, 2, and 3. [ponder]
