Pick Up Key

I have a extention that has no pick up key on her phone. other phones have this key and they are all in pick up group 1. How do I program a pick up key on a phone? This is Release 1 software. Thanks.

do the following
dial feature * 3
press the button to be programmed
dial feature 7 5



this programs the group pickup key to the button (all phones to be covered need to be in same group.

to program the directed pickup:
dial feature * 3
press the button to be programmed
dial feature 7 6


then the customer needs to push the button followed with the extension to pickup the call from.

Jerry thanks, can I do this through remote tools? And also, doesn't the pick up key answer the first ringing line automatically in that group?

I see the difference, sorry I didn't notice you have both directed pick up and group pick up. But as in my previous message is this programmable remotely? Thanks again!

depending on version you can assign the buttons thru remote tools under terminals and sets->user preferences->button programming->Bnn:

the pickups are to the longest ringing telephone longest ringing ringer ie if you have two phones in the group with the phone that has been ringing the longest is the call that gets answered.
