This one I'm sure is simple for someone on here.

I need to simply add line numbers before each serial number that I have listing.

The problem is that it seems like it is counting the serial numbers first then assigning the line numbers to the page.

Therefore you have numbers that can jump from 1 to 6 to 10 or whatever...

Should be simple but is not working out that way.

Please help if you can.

If I understand you correctly you should be using a running total formula that instead of summing counts the number of records. It should reset on the change of Item Number.

What I want is just a number for each line. 1,2,3,4,5,6

Next to each serial number in the report. It is strange because it keeps jumping numbers.

Thanks for all your help BigLouie! You have been a lifesaver already!

Try this. Edit the subreport and move the sequence number over to the visible area and place in front of the line. See if that gives you what you are looking for.

I don't see the Sequence Number anywhere. I'm assuming it is hidden. How do I view hidden items?

I'm sorry if these questions are stupid. I'm very new to this software and really appreciate your help.

Send the form to bglouie@sbcglobal.net and I'll take a look at it.
