physically removing an SSA Disk

the disk is a member of RAID5 disk array but configured as a hot spare. what are the steps that must be performed before removing physically the disk?

Just :

rmdev -dl pdisk<no.>

Replace the disk and change it to a hot spare.

Is the Disk in a Hotspare Pool ?
Is the Disk damaged ?
You can change the State of the Disk in smitty devices - SSA Raid Arrays.
Change use of a physical disk - System=AIX Member=RAID Member....
