Been getting this information log for the last week on a Compaq Proliant DL580:
Physical Drive removed: SCSI Port3, ID8 of Array Controller in slot 4

wondering what the possible cause of this might be. the drive seems to be functioning fine, no failure lights. The drive certainly wasn't removed physically. Could this be a drive that is ready to fail?

Event ID # 24580

Source is CPQCISSE

I couldn't find much information.
Thanks to anyone with some helpful ideas.

what does insight say

assume as you say event you are reading a ms event log
look in the cpqiml - this is something like start programs compaq tools compaq managenent log

also point a browser at login and have a look at array

Hi,

If Insight doesn't show you anything, try searching for the for the MS Event on You will need to provide the Event ID and source of the event.

I have found many resolutions on this site and it's much much easier to search than Microsoft's site.

They may refer you to a Microsoft Tech note. In this case you will have to go to Microsoft's site to review it. The link they provide to the tech note is a pay service.
