Hi Guys,

I have just installed (well a few days ago) Apache2 and PHP4.3.11.

Have configured apache2 and php.ini as shown from the developer website and can access localhost.

When I try to access phpinfo.php then XP asks which app would I like to open it with, if I choose php.exe then it displays phpinfo.
If I choose IE I get the line <? phpinfo(); ?>
So I think its going wrong somewhere in the link between IE and PHP but can't figure it out.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Andy.

Where is the file on your computer and how are you navigating to the webpage? the reason i ask is because IE has nothing to do with the php. they are not dependant on one another

A problem with no solution is a problem viewed from the wrong angle

make sure you access the php page via a web url like and not by dragging or double clicking from the file explorer.

Urls like file://c|/somepath/mypage.php do not go through apache and are not processed by the php engine.

Thanks for the info guys.

I've added the AddType application/x-httpd-php4 .php
and I also discovered that I had put the phpinfo file in the wrong directory. So now its working well.

Thanks for the help and info;.

Cheers

Andy.
