Hi, I'm currently using php to access paradox 7 tables on my [ old] windows 98 web server using the Microsoft paradox odbc driver V 4.00.6200.00 - this is working fine with no problems.

I've now set up my new web server [ windows xp professional ] in the same way using the same microsoft odbc driver version. With the same odbc / bde settings but it does not work - i'm getting an error that the system can't find the PARADOX.NET file.

The paradox database is on a seperate machine to the web server and the bde drive path is mapped to p:\ [ as well as the odbc drivers e.t.c.] [ also the same setp is on the 98 machine].

I have trawled the web for an answer but can only find other people asking the same questions - can anyone out there offer any suggestions?

Where is the data stored that the XP machine is accessing?

If you have the data on a Win98 machine and are accessing from the XP machine, it won't work. I believe it is a file locking issue. The system housing shared data should [must] be the newest of the OSs you are using.

Have you asked this on a BDE forum? And/or a PHP forum? It really isn't a Paradox [application] question, but a BDE [Paradox table format] question.
