I am trying to install phpBB (an open-source bulletin baord program). It says to simply change the permissions on config.php to allow anyone to write to it and then to open the script with a broswer and answer the questions you're presented with. I have tried to open it (along with every other .php file that comes with the package and IE simply opens the file like a text file so that I can see the text of the script rather than actually running the scritpt. Any ideas what might be causing that?

You apparently don't have PHP installed. phpBB is made to run on a webserver, not local machines. If you have a webserver installed, for testing purposes maybe, you could try the scripts there (if they are supported by PHP, of course). //Daniel

Thank you for your help :). I've never worked with PHP before and thought it was something that iis would run by default. I'm just installing it on my local machine so that I can get used to it before I put it out. I installed PHP and everything is going great now
