PHP script needs write right

Greetings,
I am setting up Web Calendar on one of my 6.5 servers. When I fire off the configuration script I receive an error stating that the scritp needs to be able to create files in the ./includes directory.

I was under the impression that Apache runs with supervisory rights on the server and no explicit 'rights' assignments are needed.

Ideas?

Turns out to have been a open_basedir problem in php.ini.

Fixed.
