I am trying to publish work to a root directory on a pc so that I can work on it. I am using Wamp5 installation, and publishing with Frontpage 2003. If after publishing it I use IE to open it, it just brings up Notepad showing my PHP code. If I use IE using then I can run the page. Any idea as to what I am doing wrong. Wamp5 installed PHP/MySql and Apache. Thanks

php is not properly configured on your system or it is crashing on load.
a common reason is when you have not configured mysql properly. try commenting out the relevant extension in php.ini and restarting your webserver.

Thanks, I just opened php.ini, any clearer information on what I should be commenting out? Nothing seems to stand out. Thanks

When you open it with IE not using what do you use?

You have to either use the IP address or "localhost" for access, if you try to do: C:\mywebroot\myphppage.php

It will not go through the apache server hence not getting parsed. They way you are doing through http:// it is the correct way of opening the PHP page. Even locally.

goes to show i should read the post properly.

Thankyou vacunita, yes using is the only way I can get the page to function properly. My headach was when using Frontpage to publish the pages it was establishing a Frontpage site but out of the localhost directory. I have now (I think) put the problem to rest. Star for you both, I'm on my way I hope. Regards

You're welcome and:

Many Thanks again. Thats good to know, as with Router address etc, remembering 127.0.0.1 is a pain.
