PHP, MySQL and Flash, the big how to?

Hi, I have been asked to "skin" a php chat function gadget, as the creator of it wants it done with fancy flash graphics.
I don't use flash much (HTML + PHP web designer) but I'm up for the challenge, I just need some tutorials to start with.
So, if someone could point me to some great flash database conectivity with php I'd be really greatful (yes I've already google searched, and tried the help file in flash- I need more help though)

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..
