HEy guys,

I setup php on local host. i transferred my entire website to the Inetpub/ folder. I launched the localhost and no response to my website. My index page is in there. Is there some configuration i need to get my pages to show like my website? Please help.

sounds like you have not set php up properly with your IIS installation. the instructions in the php distro are excellent. i recommend following them.

i don't think that means that you have set up php correctly or, if you'd rather, that php is set up correctly.

the instructions are in the distro.

I would recommend removing the installed version and download the manual install. You'll find more support available for a manaual installation, and the process will teach you the "ins-n-outs" of PHP on Windows.

There are tons of tuts around via google, but here is one particularly good tutorial.

THis would help if i were installing on Server 2003, but i am placing this on a XP SP2 computer. Will the same manual installation work. I'm also thinking about creating a temp folder on my webserver and testing from the temp before loading to the actual site. I use to do this when i was programming Coldfusion. I am just trying to save the trouble copying the entire website to a temp folder to run as a test. It may be that i need to change the path in my index.php page.

the same process and instructions will work on IIS 5, 6 and 7 (although the terminology for IIS 7 is a bit different and the snap-in has changed)

jpadie is correct...identical procedure for manual setup, with the only exception (that I can think of) is you can skip the step on Windows 2000 and XP for "Adding allowed extension" to IIS.
