I have a pre made index that i need to modify and I am not sure how...

I can tell how it works but not sure what I need to change to get it to work in the fashion I want.

In the following code there are 3 different page layouts:

1 is displayed if CPATH is populated
1 is displayed if manufacturer_id is populated
and then there is a default.

Basically i need to extract the manufacturer portion and create static values for use in the default part of the page.

With all these nested ifs it is difficult to figure out for me as I am not that familiar with PHP

Any help GREATLY Appreciated

Considering that you're asking for help on the specific PHP-based product, namely OSCommerce, I recommend that you ask in their support forums:

Actually I already did over there... no repsonse with the exception of a guy PMing me that he would do it for a fee...

I am not all that bad with modifying, but this one is over my head...

To be honest, I have no real problems seeing PMing's view of this. I had a job that lasted two years, the majority of my job duties including modifying OSCommerce code to customize its behavior.

OSCommerce is a complex, templatized, internationalized e-commerce application. It takes quite a bit of effort to customize it. Having to pay for that customization is not unreasonable.

I can understand that, I am not asking for all the work to be done by someone else... I know where to put the coding needed, just not sure what portion deals with just the manufacturer...

If I can get the portion that creates the table and populates it I can move and modify it myself... just need help in determining what exactly it uses so i can create a static query instead of a dynamic one.
