PHP as Apache module

Ok, here's a killer.
I got apache 1.3 running on win xp.
Now, i followed the install notes to set up php 4.3 as a module in apache.
Guess what? Apache won't start.
It will start if i use php as a cgi binary.
Any hints?

Check the ini files and the paths if are correct. You must have an php.ini file in your win dir and also a dll if i'm not wrong under system or system32
 
ok i got the error.
i used
ScriptAlias [...]
to define /php4/ when in cgi-binary.

but then i forgot to comment out the
Action [..] /php/php.exe line when trying to load the module. now it works.

silly me...
