PHP and Active X

Im relatively a PHP newbie having had about a days worth of coding experience; but I need to know the following

Does PHP support ActiveX plugins (server side, NOT CLIENT!) on a Win2K platform with all the usual services running

If not, I can always use an ASP and PHP hybrid to create the site

I have never heard of PHP directly supporting ActiveX, but then again, I don't know much about server-side ActiveX. PHP does have COM support, although I doubt it is as complete as IIS's COM support. What exactly is the ActiveX compoment supposed to do?

there are varying ones, but i recently found that u can do it the same way as anything else...

ActiveX things like, SMS messaging software, Email Senders etc...
