I have a HP Photosmart 7550 and a pc with Windows 2000. Whenever I turn the printer off and then on again, the monitor developes vertical colored lines across the entire screen and I need to do a hard shut down (because I can't see beyond the lines). I turn the pc on again and everything is fine. I can print to it, so I know it works. I've unistalled the previous driver/software and reinstalled HP new driver/software, but no luck. Looking for a little help. I'm out of ideas as to what it can be. Thanks.

It sounds like it could be some sort of electrical interference. Try plugging the printer into a different AC outlet or try temporarily disconnecting the data cable then turn it on and see what happens.

Try moving the printer away from the MONITOR or it's cable! like mentioned could be electrical/magnetic interference...
