i'm trying to save out my gfx as png but have hit a few problems. Mainly, when it saves them out they end up all dark - is there any way i can prevent it from messing with the gamma?

secondly, i have an area of the image that needs to be transparent. i have my image, complete with the transparent bits, but when i flatten the layers it draws the transparent bit in with white. what's the trick?

Firstly, I just saved an image to png and had no problem. Not sure what's happening there. For your second question, why do you need to flatten it? If you don't flatten you should be able to keep your transparencies. roda B-)

Learning is like rowing against the current. As soon as you stop, you start going backwards.

To export a transparent png or gif, there is a very simple function that will do the trick for you.
I work with PS 5.
Go to the toolmenu ”Help” and select ”Export transparent image…”.

No need for more explanations.
