I have had Paintshop Pro 7 for some time, but now I also have Creative Suite 2, and I noticed that the PSP file extension has been taken over by Photoshop for its "prefs" file type. I will still be using Paintshop Pro for a while, as I have many files and will need to convert some to PSDs to move them to Photoshop and others (vector-only graphics) to something else to move them to Illustrator. Of course I could always right-click and select "Open with Program..." and choose Paintshop Pro, but I'm wondering if Photoshop will still run okay if I change the filetype association back to Paintshop Pro. Does anyone know? I am brand new to Photoshop, so if I break something, I might not realize it.

Photoshop will be fine. Go ahead and revert the filetype association.

Thanks. This was a simple thing, but I'm going to give you a star anyway, because I believe in rewarding helpful people. (The "instructor" label and your handle listed among the MVPs gives me confidence that you know what you're talking about when you say it will be fine. :) )
