I am using Photoshop 7. Using the Text (Type) tool and standard fonts like Verdana or Times New Roman, I would like to be able to use the special symbols that are not included on the keyboard. In Microsoft Word, this is done by using Insert->Symbol, but I have been unable to figure out how to do this with Photoshop.

I don't think Photoshop 7 has this feature. If you're on a Windows PC, do a search for "charmap.exe". When you find it, create a shortcut somewhere convenient so you can use it whenever you want.

It's basically just a small utility that lets you choose a font, and it will show you every character in it. You can then copy & paste it into Photoshop, or just find out the actual keyboard command (e.g. Alt+0149)

On Mac OS, there's a similar program called Key Caps.

Thank you very much blueark. I was able to accomplish my task by using the charmap.exe program.
