photoshop does not open

After I click on the icon to open photoshop 7, it loads and then instead of openning a window at the end. THe whole program terminates........ I have been using phot0shop for years and this has never happened to me before. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program with no luck. The other adobe programs work fine. Any ideas......... When you uninstalled the program, did you clean up the Photoshop directories? A lot of stuff frequently gets left behind after an uninstall. The bad file is probably still there, and not being overwritten by the install.

I uninstalled the program and deleted the the folder to no avail. Life has no meaning without photoshop.

I tried photoshop cs and the same thing happens. Go figure......
