When I attempt to use my BRUSH TOOL via any layer mask, I get no response at all. I'm brushing on both white and black, no response. This happened once before and I recall reinstalling the software, and it worked until now. Every other tool is working. I also deleted the plist and rebooted, still not responding. Hopefully there is another solution that doesn't require reinstalling. Has anyone else had this issue?

Maybe your preferences need to be reset to their install state, they sometimes get "hosed" and strange happen.

While holding down the [Ctrl Alt Shift ] keys, Start > All Programs > Photoshop.

A MessageBox will ask "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings File" to which you answer Yes.

The Preferences file will be rebuilt and hopefully your problem is fixed.

Just had the opportunity to try it, and it worked perfectly. But for the Mac users like myself it's Command+Option+Shift.

Thank you much
