Photoshop CS2 Installation Error, Please Help.

Im trying to install Photoshop CS2. On the installation process after the couple of steps on which it says READY TO INSTALL THE PROGRAM.....THE WIZARD IS READY TO BEGIN INSTALLATION.....I clicked Install then after 2-4 seconds im getting the following error:

Please help me.
Im installing in PC with windows 2000 prof with SP4. The previous version of Photoshop CS was already uninstalled before trying to install this CS2.

Was the computer rebooted after the CS uninstallation and prior to the CS2 installation?

Yea i did.

Ive even used registry mechanic to clean the errors in the registry.

Are you installing an upgrade, or a full version?

Call Microsoft Tech support. That's why they are there.
Call Macromedia Tech support. That's why they are there.

Microsoft and Macromedia do not support Photoshop. Adobe does. If you have a legal copy of CS2, they will help you install it. If you don't have a legal copy, no one else should try to help you install it.

So, yes. I gave the correct answer. Call Adobe.

Just a thought, have you got all your virus protection programs turned off?

I tried it by first disabling the antivirus & firewall.

I rang Adobe support, they send me a link

I tried that, no sign of working.
