Hi! I have used Photoshop 7 on my Windows ME machine successfully for last 2 years. It has 512 mb RAM, 60 GIG drive with 5 gigs free. All has worked fine for 2 yrs, then suddenly it says "cannot open due to insufficient memory RAM". All other programs open fine.
I have disk scanned and defragged.
Any ideas? Thanks! Tom

Tom,

Someone had the same problem a little while ago, check out the thread thread229-610348

I would also start with the basics, empty the recycle bin, empty any temp directories, trash your Photoshop Preference files (hold the Ctrl, Alt & Shift keys down immediately after launching Photoshop). You should also back track a little and think about what may have changed with your computer, the installation of a new program, new fonts (often a problem with Photoshop) a new Windows update, etc.

Hope this helps and keep us posted.

The CTR, ALT, SHIFT did it! Thanks so much! Now, back to work!
My sincere appreciation.
