Photoshop 7 starts and closes 1

When ever I start Photoshop, it runs through it's splash screen loading the fonts and such. However, after it finishes, and should go to the application, it just quits, and disappears from Task Manager and the window disppears. I have tried numerous reinstalls to no avail. I have well over 6 GB of HDD space free and running 256MB. I am not trying to open any pictures or files, just the PS application. ImageReady works fine, but will not allow you to 'Jump' to PS as it should. Win2000 Pro SP4

There are no event logs for this and no error messages occuring. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
