photoshop 7 crash's when i save

I'm having a problem with Photoshop 7 on XP Pro for the last couple months now. When I go to save a file and type in a letter, it will crash. It also happens when I try to save it save for web. Sometimes now when I try to click on a directory to open up a file it will crash also.

I tried to uninstall the program, but it can't find the uninstall file for photoshop. I did a search for the file on my pc and it doesn't have it in the photoshop directory. I reinstalled the program to see if that did anything but it didn't.

Does anyone have any suggestions for these problems? I need this to be working right and can't find a solution. Thanks for the help.

You say you can't remove Photoshop from your computer, are you going to control panels and clicking Add or Remove programs.

Check out what bobes said, then make sure you reinstall it on a second partition or a second hard drive.
