I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, but the same issue still exists.

Upon launch, PS will load textures, brushes etc. however somewhere along the way it will just shut down. I have managed to aquire a couple of error messages that I do not understand.

The first is "Workspace file not found". Upon clicking OK on that message, I get the following..."Could not initialize PS because the file is locked. Use the Properties command in Windows Explorer to unlock the file."

I have tried using the Properties command, but with no luck. Could someone please shed some light on this issue, and hopefully provide a resolution?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like corrupt software. It could me missing the 'workspace file' that it needs, or more likely the file is there but damaged.
I tried googling "workspace file not found" and drew a blank. That's odd as almost all possible faults get discussed somewhere on the net. Are you sure that the error message said exactly those words?
All I can suggest at this point is to contact Adobe and ask for advice. Sorry I can't be more help.

I did the same thing with Google before posting here and also came up blank...

The strangest thing about it is that it worked fine up until yesterday and then it started acting up.

I'm now getting another message stating that it cannot load the PS font and that the interface will not look optimal. But, that message is irrelevent since the software never makes it to the interface...

Thanks for your reply.

I see. I thought you meant it was new software you were installing.

How full is your hard drive?
Are you using windows xp?
If so I'd suggest using system restore and then defragmenting your hard drive.

In xp its Start button > all programs > accesories > system tools > system restore.

Then:
Start button > all programs > accesories > system tools > disc defragmenter.
