Hi all,

This is an interesting problem, I thought.

I have 2 users running Photoshop 7.0 on WinNT 4.0/SP6. One computer is P4/2.2Ghz + 512Meg PC2100 RAM and the other is P4/2.4Ghz + 1 Gig PC2100 RAM; both on Abit motherboards and similarly configured. What happens is that everytime they minimized PhotoShop, the computers usually froze (mouse still moving, however) for approx. 3 minutes before unfreezing themselves. This is very annoying and unproductive ... Can anyone shed some lights?

TIA

You've got a doozie.

Does the freeze occur when there are no documents open (or when certain documents are open)? Is Photoshop's scratch drive assigned to a network drive? What else is running? Has this happened since Photoshop 7 was originally installed? Is it only Photoshop that locks up: can you display the Windows Task Manager to analyze active processes?

Why do your users keep minimizing? This may be more of a behavioral problem than a technical issue. Slap them around if none of us can help. P-)
