I just installed Photoshop 6 over 5.5, and it is at least twice slower. Did anyone els have the same problem? Am I doing everything corretly, or I should install more memory (currently I have 128MB RAM). Thanks! ---

I find it to be slower but not quite half. It is a ram hog I run 384 and want more. DeZiner

It is slower. I have 640 RAM and allow PS6 300 of that. having said that - add more RAM!

Did you also install the update? I had a problem with memory leaks before installing the update for PS6. It is available at their website...

Hope this helps!

Thanks to everyone who answered! Now it seems that 128MB very little memory (FYI, this is my home computer, at work I have 256KB, although I do pure programming there, no Photoshop). sjcmis, I'll go download it now. ---

I have 256 at home and about 400 here at work. My home version runs a lot faster than work so there may be something else causing the slowness. (?) I have no idea though. funkymonk B-)

Hehe, the most intense thing a computer can do is graphics. You dont think people go out and buy $300 video cards to get Excell to run faster do you? We are so spoiled today. I remember about 5 years ago I worked on a PowerComputing (Mac clone) with 500megs of ram and 200mhz processor and a Twin-Turbo video card that cost us around 7500 dollars each (we had two). We graphic artists have never had enough power, especially those of us who double as gamers. Even when we get computers that are too powerful for the use of RAM and startup in under 3 seconds, we are still going to say, "Gees! 3 seconds!? C'mon already!"
