Photoshop 6 User Guide Recommendations?

I recently acquired a copy of Adobe Photoshop 6 without the Adobe User Guide. If you were going to buy one third-party manual that would do the job of Adobe's user guide and more, which one would you recommend? I especially like the approach of providing projects that I can work through to learn by doing.

The Adobe classroom in a book edition is good.

Or the Peachpit press jumpstart/quickstart series.
