I'm sure I'm doing something terribly wrong, but I'm a Quark convert and cant fix this- I've placed several low quality jpg images 380X380 which won't be beautiful but good enough on the copier....they print out totally pixellated. I can't find out why...also when they import they are about 8x the size of an 8.5 x 11 page- what am I doing wrong? p.s. when I export to .pdf they look fine and they look fine on the screen.

Do the options in the FAQ not work?

The oversize placement of the image is due to the fact that InDesign tries to place images at their defined resolution. Could these images have been saved at under 72 ppi?

It is possible. They were clicked with a Treo 650- should I do some adjusting with them in Photoshop to correct this first- if yes, what do you suggest...

Open them in PS and go to Image menu/image size and check the print size and resolution.

When placed in Indesign, they should follow the print size.
