Hi, It's me again with another problem.

I received a few disks of hi res photos from our photographer in .jpg format - they're great. I need to publish them online in one of those free photo albums for my Council to approve.

Some of them she had taken portrait and therefore they would have shown on screen sideways. I imported these pics, rotated them 90 degrees and then exported them back to their original name and the resulting file sizes are huge! Far too big to zip and upload to the net.

I know this is not really a Pagemaker query, but I know a lot of you experts use many tools and are also familiar with my level of knowledge ;) not very much for those of you who don't Getting a thing about blues and purples

What app are you using to import/export? Pagemaker?

I would recommend that you use Photoshop, or Corel Photopaint, or Paint Shop Pro.. or any other raster graphics application. Simply rotating an image is not going to add bloat to the file, but you need to use the proper app. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

No need for a image editing application... What you are trying to do can be done with XNView (free utility from xnview.com)

XNView lets you scale and rotate.

Thank you very much both. I did it in Imaging for Windows in the end, just turned the .jpgs and resaved and it was fine. I think I was just trying too hard previously and messed up! They are online now and my Council are happy. Getting a thing about blues and purples
