I accidentally deleted a folder from my documents with lots of photos, but don't have $100 for a commercial recovery. I found testdisk/photorec, but when I try to launch, I get an error
Code:
/photorec; exit
dyld: /photorec Undefined symbols:
/photorec undefined reference to _uuid_generate expected to be defined in /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib
Trace/BPT trap
logout
[Process completed]

And of course I can't select a disk or anything like I read on the online step-by-step.

Any idea what I've done wrong?

Thanks,
donna

...no idea myself, seems to run fine on my machine (intel 10.6.3), your best bet may be to try contact Christophe Grenier, detailing your system info etc:

grenier@cgsecurity.org

...it would also be imperative that you don't use your disk that has the deleted files residing on it, as you would risk overwriting them with use...

...just to clarify that it runs when I double click the "photorec" or "testdisk" executable files found in the "darwin" folder (found in "testdisk-6.11.3" folder)...

...so unless your trying to run it some other way, i'm not experiencing any errors when launching...

Thanks, Andrew - that's how I tried to launch, but my old system may not be able to handle it. I'll try another way.
