PhotoPaint7 to Paint9 - File size * 5

Hi all,
Answer auf Deutsch or english.

Hope somebody can help. I have a Paint7 CPT 1-bit Schwarzweiß file which is 272k on disk. When I open it in Paint9 and, without changing it, save it the file on disk is 1,5MB, 5 times the size!!!

Anybody got any ideas what's going on here?
