Perhaps you can spend the time to give us more information such as type of BCM system etc?. Most of us will probably tell you the hard disk has failed. You will need to replace it.

Sorry, first timer. BCM400. I tried a reboot, and got nothing out of it. I am leaving it alone, but can't make any changes to the system (obviously), including the time, which is of amazing importance to some folks. I was afraid of the hard drive, but wnated to see if there was any other possibilites.
OK, so you have a BCM 400 system. There is a 9 way RS232 connector on the front of the BCM next to the LAN ports. Try and connect up a serial connection to another computer at 9600 baud. Set up a capture file and power up the BCM.
Download this file for more details, but refer to page 4 for the serial port connection setup.
If the BCM is very old, then it might be worthwhile giving it a good clean as they can get very mucky. Check the connections are sound.
If using the serial port and you DON'T see any information on the screen, then it would more likely be the hard disk has failed, but also check out the capacitors on the Motherboard.
If you see any Linux type promts on boot up, then you would have a release 4.0 system.
