Just looking for some opinions on phone upgrades.

We still have 2006's 2008's and 2616's and I was wondering what the best option for upgrading would be, should we go to the m3900 series phones or the i2000's? We have a CS1000 and sig server so to add ip phones we would have to buy more licenses.

Which digital and IP phones are comparable to our existing phones?

Thanks

IP 2004P2 or i2004 depending on your software TDM 3902, 3 ,and 4
are comparable and cheap.

The 3904's for digital are an awesome phone. The 1140 for an IP phone is an excellent choice also. Unless you have a real good reason for going IP I would stay with the 3900 series phones.

thanks for the quick replies.

what is a good reason to go with ip phones?

The only real reason I can see to go IP is if the cable infrastructure isn't there to do TDM. Lots of cost in going IP, for example, powered ethernet switches or transformers, implementing QOS and a host of other things you have to be careful about.

what you would do is let them know that you can upgrade the digital sets and keep the total cost low, but the switch is IP capable if they ever wanted to purchase licenses for the IP sets. Then they will ask you the price and when they know it, they will have you keep the TDM phones.

sounds like we will be going with the 3900's then!

thanks

Please, if you stay TDM, pick either the M2616 Display, or the M3904. EVERY other TDM phone is designed for upsell. In other words, half the time it isn't enough phone, and you have to upgrade it. Poof, then vendor sold you two phones when you only wanted one.

Only 3904 and 2616. I say even the 3904 is a stupid design with the shift key, that does not even come to the forefront when a line on Page 2 rings. "Duh, sure we market tested these." LOL, right.

3904 and 2616 are still the best in terms of features and durability. Please stay TDM. It's cost effective.

thanks for all of the replies! just need to find some good pricing on the 3904's.
