We have buildings located in both the Central and Eastern timezone that use the same CS1000, but also have a BCM 50 inbetween them. One of our branches has an issue where all the phone are either an hour ahead or hour behind, but none on the correct time. The time on the BCM and CS1000 are correct and pulling via NTP.

The sets in question are Avaya 1120/1140s.

What can we do to get the phones to report the proper time?

Thanks!

The phones get their time for the call server they are registered to. If the phones are in a different zone than the call server you have a problem.....

It's a phone system, NOT a clock!

Is there any way I can see remotely what the phones say their time is? SSH is not enabled on them, and I cannot have it enabled.

I believe there is a way to adjust the time per zone if I remember correctly.

Yeah, I searched around, and there was document that I found that said to use a feature key + a star code, but I don't have any feature key on my 1120s/1140s

The setting I was thinking about in the Zone is called ZDST for Daylight Savings Time

There is also a ZTDF prompt to change the time difference between a Main office and a Branch.

Should the phones get the time from the BCM50 onsite, or the CS1000?

I assume it would depend on where the phones are registered to. If it's an SRG then the phones should be registered to the CS1000. If it's just a BCM50 and the phones are registered there then they would get their time from the BCM.

Okay, then on the CS1000 I will need to do the time change with the ZTDF/ZDST option for each tn?

Nope, those parameters are per Zone, not per phone. I believe the Zone should be configured for BO for Branch Office. Hopefully your east and central time zone phones aren't in the same zone.

LD 117

PRT INTERZONE Print interzone statistics for the range
between the near and far zones.
PRT INTRAZONE Print intrazone statistics for all zones or for
the specified zone.

Okay this makes sense, and the zones I just printed correspond to cfg_zone and cur_zone when I print the TN of the phone sets, correct?

That helped! I found that someone had configured the DST change date incorrectly. Thanks a ton for the help!
