Hi again,
in an IP500v2 R6 after pressing extension Login code the phone restarts!
Have you ever seen this?
All phones are 16xx with force login feature enable.

What happens if you build a shortcode for login in ?
Is it firmware 1.3000 ?

I have heard about it but i could not replicate this.

Phones using 1.3000 firmware
I did try pressing shortcodes for login/logout without success

Phones restarts always when try to switch from one extension to another
It doesnt restarts only when login to the same extension it had before logout.

So the extension has the same number as the user has ?
You could try 200 range for the ip phones and 300 for the users to see if that fixes the problem.

All users with 16xx phones have their own physical h323 extension. Do you think it might be wrong?

It sound like it is trying to login the extension instead of the user.
Are you sure that you do login a user instead of an extension ?

Do you see "no user" when you login ?

move the handset "base" extn away from your user extns, but then build some new user extns called "base<base extn>"
make thos "base<extn>" users hot desk users too.

reboot the whole switch.

follow?

Sorry didnt get it, you mean not to create Base h323 extensions for hotdesking users/agents?

on IP phones, base extn should have a user assigned and logged in before logging in with another. Keep the bases and actuall extn numbers separate.

I don't know why, but we had the same issues when going from 6.0.8 to 6.0.14.

Give the base user a login button to make it easier for staff.

I did it without success. 10-15 secs after login the phone restarts. It is the latest release 6.0.14

No login code or force login on the base users???

As i said all users have login codes and force login option enabled

turn it off for the IP Phone base users

Just did an install with about 40 of the 1600 phones and they all reboot when you give them their inital extension after that they are fine. I was not to concerned because it was only the first time the phone wanted the number.

Maybe use the phone log off option (Avaya Menu) rather than user log off and get the phone back to asking for Extn No. if you don't want to use my suggestion.

Logged in base user cured this exact same problem for me.

Sorry i still cant get it clear.
Lets say we have 100 users with 1608 ip phones.
50 of them are agents and need to login and logout in their personal extension for taking daily ccr reports and statistics. The rest 50 will have their initial extension permanently.
In the manager there are 100 extensions in the "extensions" tab and 100 users with corresponding extension numbers in the "extension" field of Users tab.
What exactly i should keep separate?
Different extension numbers in "Extension" and "Users" tabs?

The 50 'normal users' should have matching base and user numbers. no login code or force login.

Create IP extns and Users with matching bases (same as above) for however many call centre handsets you have. Make these numbers out of your current number range (for neatness).

Then, create your Agent users with no IP extn allocated. login code, CCR agent, Force Login etc...

Your agents will login over your CallCentre base phones.

This is how Tech support wanted me to set it up. I had to re config a site to suit the above on advise. It sorted out thier rebooting phones.

Jamie and others.

My Method is as follows:

Say - 100 Users - 50 Fixed - Fine. 50 Hotdesk.

right - so for simplicity here. create ALL 100 Users consecutive.

e.g Extn 200 - 299 including BASE extns.

Right, Name the 1st 50 as your non-agent extns.
Now, name the last 50 as Base250, Base251 etc. Just create buttons that say Login, bar outgoing calls, anf click force login and give them a log in code.

Now, create your Agents. I normally make then in the 400's

400-449 are now your agents with log in codes and CCR agent ticked.

Now, the switch has a base and user login for ALL phones, and now your Agents are now seperate from the rest of the users (this make life easier for reporting) and also users wont be confused when their phone is logged in as Base201, and this way they will know they have to log in with their OWN extn.
