I have users who are call center agents for a major midwest city. However, they are physically located in a city in the eastern US. We recently migrated them to an Avaya solution. They currently have telephone numbers from the call center on their telephones. The call center wants to keep it that way so historical statistics aren't lost. However, the users want to be able to 4 digit dial to other extensions at their eastern location. Is there any way we can set up these phones with the call center extensions and an extension from their physical location? So far, the ideas we have tried failed: adding a local extension failed because the translated set type didn't register. We changed to a digital set type. That failed because the primary extension is showing a location at the call center. Any ideas?

I know the software is CM 6.0. The eastern location is a G450. I'll have to look at the Milwaukee hardware. I've never had to work on that.I'll check later today. Thanks for responding.

The East coast location is 4-digit. How many digits are the extensions in Milwaukee?

All locations dial 11 digits for all calls but can short dial 4 digits within their respective locations. So the Milwaukee agents located on the east coast want to be able to short dial to the other extensions at that location. That's why they want a local extension inaddition to the Milwaukee call center extension. Right now, if they dial a 4 digit extension, they get the Milwaukee extension with that number instead of the local person.

What about an autodial button that dials the first 7 digits of the East Coast extension, labelled East or something more meaningful.
Then the users would just need to press that button and dial the 4 digit extension?

It's not perfect but it will work..
