I'm attempting to transfer data from an Informix UniVerse database into a SQL table using a DTS package. My source SQL query has two fiels with phone number (phone and fax). Both field values display correctly in preview. The problem is that when I attempt to transform the data the phone field comes through as a zero while the fax number works. I'm being told that the only difference, since I don't know UniVerse, is that the phone is right justified and fax is left justified in the dictionary. Even if it doesn't apply to UniVerse specifically I'm wondering if someone has seen this before and might be able to send some ideas my way.

Thanks!

What are the data types for phone and fax on your SQL Table?

Is your transformation of the straight column to column variety or is there actual 'transformation' occurring?

Professor: NOOOOOOOOOOOO.

The SQL table has the same data type for each field. The resource that I'm working with that is somewhat familiar with UniData decided to try removing the dictionary item for phone, copying the fax one, and repointing the copy to the correct field. That did the trick.

That is interesting. It'll be good to know if I ever find myself in what seems like the unfortunate situation of working with the UniVerse product. One of our clients moved their CRM database to a product called SalesLogix and that seems to be causing us a lot of problems. Luckily we only work with text file they send!

Thanks for the [image ], although I don't think I deserved it!

Take care,

Alex

If someone tries to help in some way I find it valuable.

My primary job function is working with a CRM app and have heard complaints about SalesLogix.

I am not surprised. Half the days they don't even deliver the files lately... Hopefully they can get their ish together soon!
