Hi,

A customer recently upgraded to R11.1 then told me later that they used Phone Manager.

I have not had any experience with this software, is there a newer version that works with 11.1 or is it unsupported/end of life?

I know it is quite old software. The customer went from R5 to R11.1 (via swapping the chassis).

Many thanks!!

No. There isn't a newer version of manager. You need a Receptionist license and Soft Console.

Also no.

Softconsole is not a replacement for Phone Manager.

You need One-X portal or IX-Workplace in call control mode.

And therefor you need the proper license (prefer power user)

I thought that might be the case! Thank you for your replies!

The nearest equivalent is IX Workplace which works directly with the IP Office. One-X portal needs a One-X server.

All of these need a user license. Minimum is office worker but look at getting power user which includes other features.

Unfortunately these user licenses require you to have a preferred edition license even if you don't use Voicemail Pro or One-X portal.
PhoneManager Lite was free!

Was there an upgrade path from PhoneManager Pro to Office worker?

In my opinion, this is where Avaya really screw us. You can't just bolt on a Power User license (or the other user licenses) without first having to upgrade to Preferred Edition!

Yes ipohead. Phone Manager Pro licences are converted to Office Worker licences in the upgrade process. But nothing for Phone Manager Lite.

I guess we have always used SoftConsole because most of our customers used Phone Manager as a reception console for call control and user status. Never had a customer use it for general users or agents. It all comes down to what the customer wants to do with it.
