Hi, I need a bit of clarification to the following:-

Client upgraded from a IP 403 DT to IP 500 V2 R9

There previous system was using phone manager pro. Assuming i can't get PRO to work on the new system at all.
I believe there are two options?
1/ Put One-X on the server (too costly due to the licences)
2/ Change the CCU to R8 and migrate current licenses?

Will this work? Are there any other issues i might face?

Many thanks in advance.

As far as I remember the R8.1 still has phone manager so you don't have to go all the way down to R8
Once setup you can then use it and upgrade to 9.0 and it will still work but you can't make any changes from pro to lite or settings but they are still working. As of 9.1 it will just not work any more.
Yes you can use one-x portal but it is a lousy replacement for phone manager because most people just want the big status window to see if people are on the phone.
a bigger phone may help to see the status of other users (1416 or 1616 is enough for most or hang on a button module) but that is then more expensive than a user license.
If they don't need phone manager softphones then the cheaper office user license can help rather than power user licenses for all.

Yes, PhoneManager still works on R8.1

One-X Portal itself doesn't need a licence but individuals users do and I recall these are similar to Phone Manager Pro. Unfortunately all this now needs a licence for Preferred Edition (called Voicemail Pro in the past) which isn't cheap.

If you create an 8.1 configuration with Phone Manager assigned via User Rights, you can copy that User Rights into a 9.0 configuration. Although you won't see the tab for Phone Manager any more, assigning users to that User Rights will enable Phone Manager Pro for them.

PhoneManager still works on R9 only you cannot change the settings for PhoneManager.
if upgraded from earlier versions then the users still can have PMPro if u=it was assigned before the upgrade, new users will have PMLite.
With a little effort there is a way to assign PMPro to new users.

Open offline a 8.x config, add two user restriction tables, one named "PMLite" and one named "PMPro"
Change the settings in the user rights to the PhoneManager settings and export the user rights tables as binary.
Import the table in R9.
Then you can copy the required User Rights settings to any user thus allowing the user to use PMPro or PMLite.

From 9.1 and up PM cannot be used at all.
