I can ping the ipoffice but phone manager cant find it. when i am in the opffice and connect my laptop inside the Network (local) and it works fine. So im assuming its something on myside of the VPN (linksys vpn router) or my offices VPN (linksys vpn router)

I have a hard Voip phone that works perfectly through the same VPN but not manager.

any tips for the OS or Ipports used for this application etc...

My setup
-XP Pro SP2
-latest PMP (d0wnloaded today)
-tcp/ip removed QOS scheduler.
-ipoffice 406V2 3.2.54

thanks in advance.

In Phone Manager under Preferences -> Audio Codec, have you checked the Confirm IP Adress?

If you have this checked and start PM you'll get to choose what IP adress the IPO should use to communicate with you PM.

it never gets past the login screen. if i browse to the exact ipaddress it will find the ipoffice but phone manager never allows me to login.

Can you browse for users after you browsed the IPO?

The following ports are used by the PM :

Port 69 on the IP Office and the Phone Manager PC- TFTP
This is used by the Phone Manager to obtain data from the IP Office such as user name lists and the switch directory. TFTP is also used during the application log on.

Port 50796 on the IP Office - IPO PC Partner
This port is used by Phone Manager and Soft Console applications to establish communication with the IP Office for call signalling, configuration changes, etc.

Port 50799 on the Phone Manager PC - IPO BLF Updates
Used by Phone Manager to receive status updates for internal speed dial icons. These are sent from the IP Office using the 255.255.255.255 broadcast address.

VoIP
Phone Manager Pro PC Softphone uses ports 1719 and 1720 for H323 Gatekeeper discover and then a range of ports for VoIP. Therefore we can only recommend Phone Manager Pro PC Softphone operation across a firewall when using VPN to tunnel the connection.
