When following the upgrade path in respect of upgrading a 4.0 phone manager to 4.1, phone manager is removed from start up. This was a real nuisance for me this week as we had about 60pc's affected. The "Avaya" response is that "This is a design Feature and how it works" Not acceptable as far as I am concerned. Had to log all users off and run a repair to re-insert the phone manager into start up as it didn't like the exe being copied back in.
Any other thoughts on this?

Just copy a shortcut to the startup folder, no need to repair etc...works for me anyway.

Shouldn't have to tho. Should place everything back as it was in the first place on the upgrade. This isn't mentioned or documented on any release notes. Thanks

I agree, the answer from Avaya is just their typical response when they don't want to admint they messed up, but the shortcut method is a faster way round the problem!!

we found if you upgrade the whole user suite it is fine, it only drops out of the startup folder if you just use the pmp setup exe

Well that just shows that Avaya will just fob you off without even without checking the facts first, they would have known this and could have told the poster this info, but no, just give the old "It's a feature" line to get rid of them....I'm off to get drunk for the weekend anyway so I don't really care. lol

@ amriddle:

what country are you in? i could do with getting drunk right now, will probably make tomorrows install more bearable, its only 2pm here

UK....was thinking of suggesting to my Boss that we have an annual "working while drunk" day, it would give the customer a much cheerier response to their problems and a happier staff!! lol

im in blighty too, maybe if we can spread the word we can get "working while drunk" day to become a nationally celebrated "holiday".

may become the least productive day of the year, but at least if clients are pissed too then they are less likely to raise faults

I think some of our competitors are already doing it, judging by the state of some of the systems we have taken over maint on!! Would make the trip to town on the Bus more exciting too I reckon!!

trying to think if we have lost any maint contracts recently, may have been one of mine you picked up ha ha
