Hi guys

we have an office with 70 users and 5 of these have manager pro licence, set up in ip office manager which users get the licence. These users are constantly defaulting to lite. any ideas?

copy of email from client below

I’m not ruling out local firewall but I’d find it odd if it was that, as we said, its intermittent and doesn’t happen at specific times or actions, so if it was firewall you would kind of expect the same thing to occur and occur frequently. We’ve had it happened today\yesterday but not for days before then so I’m thinking something else is at the root of it.
Here’s what I found today:
Nena\Ally\Mari\Nat – all showing Phone Mgr Lite (all user config correct and unchanged in Manager, all set to Pro as always)
Gigi – showing Phone Manager Pro
Checked IP Office System Status program, Extension Status:
Extn 300 = Lite
Extn 301 = Pro
Extn 316 = Lite
Extn 354 = Lite
Extn 363 = Lite
So the Extension Status matches up with what I am seeing on PC’s.
I then go on to check ALL Extension Statuses and there is definitely only ONE Extension showing as PRO, which is Gigi’s.
This rules out other PC’s\Extensions accidentally taking the remaining Pro licences, I have confirmed that only 1 is in use.
I also check the System Status program, Licenses:
It shows that 5 Pro Licenses are in use (even though I have confirmed that only 1 is in Extension Status above) and Congestion Count = 6, Date\Time of Last Congestion is 14/09/2011 at 09:55:14 – see screenshot attached.
I check the Event Logs for both FTPCMONITOR and FTSVR01 (just in case as it runs vmpro) and cannot see any events at that time.
NB: when I first logged in I noticed that the PBX logger interface had hung (though the service itself was still running) however, this has not happened before when the Lite\Pro issue occurred before so I rule that out as significant for now.
I check the System Status program, Alarms and there is an alarm ‘14/09/2011 09:10:57 1 VoiceMail Pro connection failure’ (see attached log)’
I then decide to restart the VMPro service on FTSVR01 just to see although it shouldn’t be linked. This could be a coincidence, but, my PC now shows Phone Mgr Pro, Gigi’s still has Pro, BUT Mari, Nena and Ally’s PC still show Lite..
I’m still trying to avoid another phone system reboot so I try this workaround, which works:
From Manager\Config I remove all the Phone Mgr Pro licenses
Merge Config
Check all PC’s – now showing at Lite (inc mine and Gigi’s)
Check System Status and Extension Status all show Lite and License Statuses for Phone Mgr Pro are no longer reported on.
Back in Manager\Config I re-insert all the Phone Mgr Pro licenses
Merge Config
I then go to all PC’s and manually log them in again, they they all show as Phone Mgr Pro correctly, and System Status shows the 5 licences in use and no Congestion Count.
So I have figured out a workaround that enables me to fix the problem without having to reboot the phone system (which of course is the quick and easy fix but not convenient).
The question is why…

Goto the licences and double click on the PhoneManager Pro licence, you'll see 5 or 6 there. You can set more users to PMPro the you have licences.

Also in the SysMon (Monitor tool) goto "Status" > "Partner sessions" to see who have PMP running

Have you found the solution?
I have had the same problem several times recently, last time yesterday. We have 6 ladies in contact centre, and they reported they ALL got momentarily disconnected from IP Office. They reconnected again in Phone Manager Pro mode, but only 5 of them. The sixth, poor girl, stuck in Lite mode.
I have 11 PMP licenses in total, and System Status app shows they are all used, although SysMon (Monitor tool) in 'Partner Sessions' shows only 6 running instances of Phone Manager, 5 Pro, 1 Lite. Bas1234, thanks for useful tip!!
So my guess is:
- they were disconnected because of something (WAN router reboot, VPN reconnect, ISP equipment fail, etc.), but definitely not because of local causes like firewall
- because they were disconnected incorrectly, IP Office failed to free the licenses used by Phone Managers.

I decided to wait. Finally the IP Office freed the license. It was definitely more then two hours, maybe 3 or 4. Maybe IP Office does license cleanup once a day. I didn't find any option regarding updating licenses count anywhere in configuration.
I tried your workaround (not with all users, with one user only) - it didn't help. So the only real solution I see right now is reboot, which is unacceptable - I have 70 other people on this IP Office.

I hope there is some magic tool for IP Office, which makes the station re-count the licenses.
