Phone Manager pro Confusion !

Hi

Having conflicting information. Is Phone manager pro license being removed for sale in the attempt to force customers down the one x portal road. If so why is it on there download site ?

Hope they don't remove it, because not all customer want to fork out on a server to run it if they are small outfit. Although implementing one x is so much more timely from a installation point of view.

Sorry slight mistake, not from download site but the new 8.1 knowledge base web site still lists it.

And another point is contactstore available for the new server edition ! I though I read it somewhere it wasn't but can't find any info on the release notes.

Phone Manager Pro went end of sale in March, it is still supported and does still work in 8.1 but only if you have legacy licences can you use Pro from now on and who knows how long before they actively block it.

I agree it's a mistake to push people into OXP as I think it's actually a poor substitute and offering a free phone manager type application is something the competition still do

To the best of my knowledge if you want a soft phone you are supposed to use the Video Phone from release 6.0, right?

Softphone I think is found within the GA Admin install folder.

Softphone is a different matter, video softphone is better than phone manager was at being a softphone, but only just, yes you are expected to use that now on. But from 8.1 you can use Flare, which confusingly uses a new softphone licence or office/teleworker/power user licence
